### Kalu Bardia Baba (Khali Biratia): The story of unique power and greatness Part 2
: From the pen of Naveen Singh Rana (This is just an attempt by the author to make you all aware of the story narrated by his grandfather in his childhood which was hidden in his memories)

Kalu Bardiya Baba, was a revered and unique power person of Tharu society, whose tales of greatness are still alive in the hearts of people. This story highlights an incident from his life, which shows not only his power but also his generosity and greatness.

#### **In the lap of nature**
It was a lively morning when the rays of the sun were breaking through the light mist and spreading over the lush green paddy fields. Kalu Bardiya Baba was ploughing his field. His simple dress and simple lifestyle were just a sign of his greatness. The fields were surrounded by a dense circle of trees, the chirping of birds and the rustling of the light breeze were making the environment picturesque.

#### **Sudden Arrival of a Stranger**
At that time, a man passed by and he saw Baba and said "Ram Ram" politely. But, he had something else in mind. There was a strange gleam in his eyes, which testified to his plan. Baba, due to his unique power, immediately understood what was in his mind. Without any hesitation, Baba said to the man, "Put Ram Ram in that thuniya."

#### **Unforgettable incident**
As soon as the stranger placed "Ram Ram" in the thuniya, the thuniya cracked and broke. Seeing this scene, the man got scared and started running. Baba called him, "Where are you running? And why are you trying to kill me?" The man told his whole story in fear. He told that some people were troubled by Baba's power and fame and they had sent him to harm Baba.

#### **Baba's Generosity**
Baba could have punished him immediately if he wanted, but he forgave his mistake and said, "Come, let's make a bet of win or loss. There is a tamarind tree in front. You kill it with your power, then I will bring it back to life. And if I kill it, then you bring it back to life." The man agreed to this condition. He killed the tamarind tree with his power and the tree dried up.

#### **Reviving Power of Nature**
Baba started watering the tree daily with his power. Within a few days, the tree became green again. Its greenery and new vitality amazed the man. After some time, the man came to meet Baba and seeing the green tree, he fell at Baba's feet and asked for forgiveness.

#### **gift of life**
Baba raised him and smilingly said, "Giving life is a greater work than killing. Therefore, always use your power not to take someone's life but to give life." Hearing this, the man became emotional and bowed down before Baba's greatness. Baba forgave him and showed his noble and kind nature.

This incident proved that Kalu Bardiya Baba was not only blessed with unparalleled strength, but he was also an embodiment of greatness and generosity. His life is still a source of inspiration and his teachings teach us that the true use of power is in giving life, not in taking life. His great deeds and his approach to life will always remain alive in our hearts.
