Rana Tharu society, which has been nature worshippers for centuries and has faith in its deities, is slowly drifting away from its roots, which is adversely affecting those people of the society who earn their livelihood by hard work and a large part of it is wasted in such activities, the profit of which goes to those babas, preachers or such people who earn their livelihood by misleading people. This story is of a family that left its old beliefs and worship practices and started living its life in the company of new sects and babas. Continuous company of babas and sermons not only wasted their precious time, but also the time for earning a livelihood started decreasing. They started getting so engrossed in those sermons that they started feeling other worships or beliefs to be of a low level, which started affecting their social life as well.
Ramsingh Rana's family was one of those Tharu community families who always prayed to their favorite gods. Their house was located near the border of the village forest, where the Sun God was welcomed every morning and the Moon was worshipped every evening. Ramsingh and his family worshiped trees, rivers, and mountains and protected their natural heritage. Due to which, by worshiping their favorite ancestral gods in the morning and evening, they got satisfaction and peace in their mind. And their life was going on like this.
With time, the trend of listening to the discourses of saints and babas who came from other cities to the village started increasing. Ramsingh's son, Ajay, and his wife were influenced by these discourses and started thinking of adopting new sects. He and his mother started going to the company of babas along with his relatives and slowly started moving away from the old worship practices of their family. And wherever there was a congregation and discourse of Baba, they started going far away with other people to listen to the congregation and discourse. This trend continued continuously and its effect started reflecting in their lives too.
Gradually other people of the village also started going to the company of the Babas. Big events started taking place in which countless people would participate. This not only led to the wastage of time and money, but many accidents also started happening. Sometimes there would be a stampede somewhere, sometimes a bus accident or other incident would happen, but they would forget it thinking it to be God's work.
One day, many people from far off cities and villages gathered to attend Baba's sermon. Baba's sermon was going on and there were more people than the place, due to the crowd there was a stampede and many people got injured. And many women and children died, this accident shook Ram Singh's family, seeing people crying in front of his eyes and dead bodies lying on the ground, Ajay realized what a big mistake he had made by abandoning the old beliefs and worship methods of his family. And today his precious life has gone astray in such a way, in which he should have done something for his family, society and country by working hard, he is ruining his life by getting into the troubles of sermons and Babas.
After this incident, Ajay explained to his family and the people of the village that we should return to our old worship practices and heritage. Ramsingh's family started worshipping their deities again and also inspired the people of the village. Slowly, the village started adopting its old beliefs and resolved to stay away from the company of Babas.
This story teaches us that we should respect our heritage and old beliefs and avoid running after new sects and teachings. Following our traditions and worship practices not only strengthens our faith, but also enriches us socially and culturally.
